Description
This window is suitable residential application If your in the market for a Double Hung window that looks like a traditional clad window from the curb, has a contemporary clad-look, a 14 degree slope sill–like a traditional clad window–then the 8017 window is the window for you. This window has been tested to a design pressure of 30 (DP30). This means that the window can withstand a wind load of 131 MPH without the window breaking. A DP30 window also has to pass a water test with wind blowing onto the window at 42 MPH. So in other words, the 8017 Series double hung window will not leak with rain blowing against the window at 42 MPH. Our Series 8017 comes with a factory integral mull on multiple windows, which creates a continuous head and sill–which further eliminates leaks in the field. The Sash has wide rails (like a clad window) and narrow stiles which makes the window look exactly like a clad window. The Sash has wide rails (like a wood window) and narrow stiles which makes the window look exactly like a wood window.
The window has a an aluminum nail fin, for rigid installations; and a corner key with an 1/4 inch integral shim to eliminate crowning in the sill.
If you order the window with a bronze or earthtone exterior, we challenge you to tell the difference between our window and a clad window. Furthermore, whether your looking for windows for your house or an architect looking for a lower cost alternative to clad windows with the exact same look, then look no further. If you considering a roll-form clad window, we suggest you open up your eyes to our 8017–it’s more economical, and, emphatically–it will not rot. If you can find an 4 9/16 vinyl window that looks like a clad window and performs better than our window, then, by all means–buy it!
